Quick answer

Corporate trainers in Vietnam can earn a train the trainer certification through Bodhih's 4-day Certified TTT program, taught in English: in-house in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi or at your plant, live online (Vietnam is 1.5 hours ahead of IST), or at an open batch in Mumbai or Bengaluru. Batches are capped at 15, with 80% practice. International participants pay USD 500 for an open batch in India (non-residential); in-house and online fees in VND or USD are on request.

Taught in English: is that right for your trainers?

Bodhih delivers this program only in English; it is not available in Vietnamese. Every exercise, practice delivery and feedback round is in English. That works well in foreign-invested companies, IT outsourcing firms and regional offices where English is the working language between Vietnamese staff, expatriate managers and overseas clients. It works less well for a trainer who teaches only in Vietnamese and rarely speaks English at work. Many organisations certify their English-confident trainers and training coordinators first, and these people then apply the methods to the Vietnamese-language sessions they run for operators and new hires. If you are unsure about a nominee, a short conversation in English before booking usually settles it.

Online timing: Vietnam time vs IST

Vietnam runs on Indochina Time (UTC+7), 1.5 hours ahead of India Standard Time throughout the year. A live online day that runs 9:00 AM–6:00 PM IST runs 10:30 AM–7:30 PM in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Mornings are free for operational work, but the evening finish clashes with family time and commuting, and four such days in a row are demanding. For company groups, Bodhih can schedule a dedicated online batch that follows Vietnamese office hours, which also makes it easy to bring together trainers from Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City without travel. Plan around Tết, when much of the country stops for the Lunar New Year. The online TTT page explains how practice and feedback run live.

Where Vietnam needs better trainers

Vietnam's growth has been driven by foreign investment and fast-scaling domestic firms, and both hire large numbers of young employees who must become productive quickly. That puts a premium on internal trainers who can teach well, not just know the job.

Manufacturing and electronics

Large electronics assembly and component plants are concentrated in the northern provinces around Hanoi, with further manufacturing clusters around Ho Chi Minh City in the south. Garments, footwear, furniture and automotive parts add to the mix. Line leaders and engineers train thousands of operators on standard work, quality and safety, often with high turnover. Effective trainers break tasks down, demonstrate, let people practise and check competence on the job; our technical train the trainer page explains that approach.

IT outsourcing and software services

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang are home to a large IT outsourcing and software-services industry serving clients in Japan, Europe, the US and the wider region. Senior developers and project leads run onboarding bootcamps, technology upskilling and client-process training. Many are strong engineers who find teaching unexpectedly hard; the SME-to-trainer guide covers that shift, and the program's design and facilitation practice addresses it directly.

Banking and financial services

Vietnamese banks, consumer-finance companies and insurers have grown fast and continue to digitise. Their training centres teach products, credit processes, customer service and compliance to large branch and sales networks. Internal faculty benefit from turning dense regulatory material into short, scenario-based sessions and from measuring whether behaviour changes after training.

Cascading from English to Vietnamese

In many Vietnamese companies the training material is written in English, often by a regional or global team, and then delivered in Vietnamese on the floor or in the branch. Meaning leaks at every step of that chain. Certified trainers can reduce the loss by agreeing a short glossary of key terms before translating, rewriting objectives as observable actions so they survive translation, piloting the Vietnamese version with a small group, and checking understanding through demonstrations rather than by asking whether everyone understood. The program's work on objectives and Bloom's action verbs makes this much easier.

Vocational pedagogy certificates and the Bodhih credential

Vietnam has a formal requirement for vocational teachers. Under Circular 08/2017/TT-BLĐTBXH, as amended by Circular 21/2020, teachers in vocational education institutions need a vocational pedagogy certificate. That rule applies to vocational education institutions, such as vocational colleges and centres. It does not apply to corporate trainers delivering in-company training, so a plant trainer, bank trainer or IT bootcamp lead does not need that certificate to train employees.

The Bodhih Certified Trainer credential is a professional skills certification issued by Bodhih Training Solutions. It is not a vocational pedagogy certificate, it does not qualify anyone to teach at a vocational institution, and Bodhih does not claim recognition from Vietnamese authorities for it. If you are hiring vocational college teachers, follow the circulars; if you are developing corporate trainers, the Bodhih program is designed for that job.

Who attends from Vietnam

Participants typically include HR and L&D managers in foreign-invested companies, plant training coordinators and production engineers, IT delivery managers and technical leads, bank training-centre faculty, regional trainers for multinational brands, and independent consultants who train in English. Apart from working English there are no prerequisites. Each participant brings a real module, perhaps a line-operator induction, a developer onboarding day or a product-training session, and leaves with it redesigned, rehearsed and assessed.

In-house TOT for companies in Vietnam

For a plant, IT services firm or bank, an in-house batch of up to 15 trainers is usually the best value: your venue, your dates and practice on your own content. Holding the program at a factory lets trainers rehearse with the equipment and procedures they actually teach. Groups with trainers in Thailand, Malaysia or elsewhere in the region can combine them in one batch. Senior trainers who will build other trainers can progress to the Master Trainer Certification. See the corporate TTT page for how in-house work is scoped, and the Southeast Asia page and Thailand page for nearby options.

How to get started

  1. Choose your nominees — trainers who use English at work and train others regularly.
  2. Decide the format — in-house in the north or south, a dedicated online batch, or an India open batch.
  3. Request a quote in VND or USD from solutions@bodhih.com with numbers, locations and dates.
  4. Select a real module for each participant to redesign.
  5. Attend all four days and pass the final certification delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a train the trainer certification in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi?

Yes. Bodhih runs in-house batches at your venue in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi or anywhere in Vietnam, live online batches, and open classroom batches in Mumbai and Bengaluru. No public open batch in Vietnam is currently announced. Email solutions@bodhih.com or call +91 99000 11603 to plan your option.

Do corporate trainers in Vietnam need a vocational pedagogy certificate?

No. The vocational pedagogy certificate required under Circular 08/2017/TT-BLĐTBXH, as amended by Circular 21/2020, applies to teachers at vocational education institutions. It does not apply to corporate trainers delivering in-company training. The Bodhih credential is a separate professional skills certification issued by Bodhih.

Is the TOT course available in Vietnamese?

No. The program is taught in English, including all practice deliveries and the final assessed delivery. It suits trainers who use English at work. Many organisations certify English-confident trainers first, who then apply the methods to the Vietnamese-language sessions they deliver to operators and new joiners.

What time are online sessions in Vietnam?

Vietnam is 1.5 hours ahead of India. A 9:00 AM–6:00 PM IST online day runs 10:30 AM–7:30 PM in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Company groups can ask for a dedicated online batch timed to Vietnamese office hours, and should avoid the Tết holiday period.

How much does a TOT course in Vietnam cost?

International participants pay USD 500 per participant for an open batch in India (non-residential: travel and stay are extra). In-house and online fees for Vietnam are shared on request in VND or USD, because they depend on format, location and the number of trainers. An in-house quote covers a full batch of up to 15 participants. Send your numbers, sites and preferred dates to solutions@bodhih.com.

Is the program useful for IT outsourcing companies?

Yes. Technical leads and delivery managers who run onboarding bootcamps and client-process training learn to set clear objectives, design hands-on practice instead of long demos, facilitate questions and measure whether new hires reach productivity faster. Each participant redesigns one of their own sessions during the program.
