In Rwanda, you can earn a Train the Trainer (TTT) or Training of Trainers certification through Bodhih's 4-day Certified TTT program, delivered in-house in Kigali, as a live online batch (Rwanda is 3.5 hours behind India, so a dedicated time slot is often better), or at an India open batch. Fees are quoted in RWF or USD on request. Batches are capped at 15.

Online timing: Central Africa Time vs IST
Rwanda is on Central Africa Time (CAT, UTC+2), which is 3.5 hours behind India Standard Time throughout the year. A live online day of 9:00 AM–6:00 PM IST therefore runs 5:30 AM–2:30 PM in Kigali. That is the widest gap of any East African country Bodhih serves, and for most working professionals a 5:30 AM start for four consecutive days is not realistic. Our honest advice: if you are an individual, check the batch calendar and decide whether the early slot is workable; if you are an organisation with a group, ask for a dedicated online batch scheduled within Rwandan office hours. The online TTT page describes how practice deliveries and feedback run on screen.
A simple comparison helps:
- IST online batch — 5:30 AM–2:30 PM in Kigali; workable for a determined individual who can protect four early mornings and an afternoon of rest.
- Dedicated online batch — scheduled in Rwandan hours for an organisation's group; the same curriculum and assessed delivery without the dawn start.
- In-house in Kigali — face-to-face practice at your venue; usually the best value once you have six or more trainers.
- India classroom — four days in Mumbai or Bengaluru alongside trainers from many industries; allow time for flights and visa arrangements.
Whichever you choose, keep the four days clear of other work. The program is 80% practice, and participants who step out for meetings miss the deliveries and feedback rounds that make the difference.
Why trainer quality matters in Kigali
Rwanda has built much of its economic strategy around services, and Kigali in particular has positioned itself as a conference and meetings destination, a regional base for international organisations and a growing centre for technology and finance. Each of these depends on people who can teach others well.
- Services, hospitality and conferences — Kigali hosts international summits, conferences and events, supported by hotels, venues and event-management companies. Service standards have to be taught to large teams, often before a major event, and training managers need sessions that change behaviour quickly. The customer service TTT page is relevant here.
- NGOs and development partners — health, education, agriculture and governance programmes train district staff, community workers and cooperative members through cascades. The quality of the first TOT decides how much survives at village level.
- Banking, microfinance and insurance — financial institutions in Kigali train branch and agency staff on products, digital channels, customer care and compliance, frequently using experienced staff as part-time trainers.
- ICT and digital services — technology companies, start-ups and digital-services teams need engineers and product specialists who can run onboarding, customer training and technical workshops. The technical Train the Trainer page covers how subject experts learn to teach.
- Public institutions and training providers — government agencies and TVET providers run continuous capacity-building programmes for their own staff.
Rwanda's TVET Trainer Certification Framework and Bodhih
Rwanda has a formal structure for trainers in technical and vocational education. In February 2023 the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) published a TVET Trainer Certification Framework with tiers for TVET Trainer, Senior Trainer, Master Trainer and In-Company Instructor. The Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) coordinates trainer development under that framework. If you teach in a TVET school or polytechnic, or you are an in-company instructor working within the TVET system, that framework defines the certification path you need, and RTB is the right body to ask about it.
The Bodhih program sits outside that national system. The Bodhih Certified Trainer credential is a professional skills certification issued by Bodhih Training Solutions, and Bodhih does not claim MINEDUC or RTB accreditation, nor equivalence to any tier of the Rwandan framework. It is designed for corporate, NGO and institutional trainers who want stronger design, facilitation and evaluation skills. Where an employer, donor or regulator requires a framework-recognised certificate, confirm the requirement with RTB first. Note also that "Master Trainer" in Bodhih's portfolio refers to Bodhih's own advanced program, not to the Rwandan tier of the same name.
Who attends from Rwanda
Rwandan participants tend to be hotel and venue training managers, event and conference operations leads, HR and L&D officers, bank and insurance trainers, ICT team leads who run onboarding or client training, NGO programme officers designing TOT workshops, and independent consultants who facilitate for donors and government partners. Lecturers and staff from training providers also join when they want to strengthen practical facilitation. There are no formal prerequisites. Because Day 1 and Day 4 deliveries are compared and reviewed against Bodhih's Trainer Competency Matrix, each participant leaves with concrete evidence of how their facilitation has changed. If you are just moving into a training role, the guide on moving from subject expert to trainer is a good starting point.
What the program covers
The Bodhih Certified Train The Trainer (TTT) Program builds a complete trainer skill set over four days:
- Adult learning — andragogy, Kolb's experiential cycle and Bloom's Taxonomy, applied to writing objectives and choosing activities.
- Design — Training Needs Analysis and the ADDIE model, so sessions solve real performance problems.
- Delivery — facilitation and platform skills, questioning and debriefing, handling difficult participants and virtual training delivery.
- Evaluation — Kirkpatrick's four levels, useful when donors or leadership ask what changed after training.
Participants receive 3 trainer toolkits (chosen from Bodhih's library of 100), exchange structured peer feedback, and finish with a final assessed certification delivery. See the full curriculum.
In-house TTT in Kigali
For organisations with several trainers, an in-house batch in Kigali is usually the simplest option. Bodhih delivers at your venue, on dates planned around your event calendar, programme cycle or product launch. Participants redesign their own material — a front-of-house service standard, an event-staff briefing, a credit-product session, a community health module or a developer onboarding course — so the four days produce usable content as well as certified trainers. Regional teams can add colleagues from Uganda, Tanzania or Kenya. Experienced trainers who will prepare other trainers can continue to Bodhih's Master Trainer Certification. Read how in-house programs are scoped on the corporate TTT page.

Frequently asked questions
Is Bodhih's Train the Trainer program available in Kigali?
Yes, as an in-house batch at your venue in Kigali or elsewhere in Rwanda, as a live online batch, or at an open classroom batch in Mumbai (18–21 Nov 2026) or Bengaluru (9–12 Dec 2026). No public open batch in Rwanda is currently announced. Call +91 99000 11603 or email solutions@bodhih.com to discuss the best route.
How much does a TOT course cost in Rwanda?
International participants pay USD 500 per participant for an open batch in India (non-residential: travel and stay are extra). In-house and online fees for participants in Rwanda are quoted on request in RWF or USD. They depend on the format, venue and number of trainers, and an in-house quote covers a batch of up to 15 people. Email solutions@bodhih.com with your group size, location and preferred dates to receive a quote.
Does the Bodhih credential count under Rwanda's TVET Trainer Certification Framework?
No equivalence is claimed. MINEDUC's 2023 framework sets tiers for TVET Trainer, Senior Trainer, Master Trainer and In-Company Instructor, with RTB coordinating trainer development. The Bodhih Certified Trainer credential is a professional skills certification issued by Bodhih. If you need a framework-recognised certificate, check with RTB.
What time do online sessions run in Rwanda?
Rwanda is 3.5 hours behind India. A 9:00 AM–6:00 PM IST online day runs from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM in Kigali, which is early for most people. Organisations enrolling a group can ask for a dedicated online batch held within Rwandan working hours instead.
Is the program useful for hospitality and conference teams?
Yes. Hotels, venues and event companies need trainers who can prepare large teams quickly and consistently, especially before major events. The program covers designing short practical sessions, demonstration, feedback and evaluation. An in-house batch lets your training managers rebuild your own service and briefing modules during the four days.
Can trainers from neighbouring countries join a Kigali batch?
Yes. Regional organisations often combine trainers from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania in a single in-house batch. Live online batches are also open to participants anywhere in East Africa. Remember that Rwanda is one hour behind East Africa Time, so agree session times that work for every location.
